Storm Season Walkthrough
Chapter 2 · Levels 11–20 · New objectives under violet skies
Storm Season is where Focus Drop stops being only “tap everything well” and starts assigning jobs. You still have three lives and the same rating ladder (Perfect +50, Excellent +35, Good +20, Okay +10), but levels now ask for reachScore totals, perfectStreak chains, surviveTime clocks, dodgeBombs counts, and another noMiss gate. Read the objective before the first drop falls — playing Golden Rush like Danger Zone wastes goldens; playing Bomb Patience like Endless score farming invites disaster.
New objective types
- reachScore — Hit a point target (2500 on Golden Rush, 3500 on High Stakes). Protect streak, catch high (toward 1.8×), prioritize goldens, never tap bombs.
- perfectStreak — Chain Perfect taps (5 on Perfect Storm). Only Perfect advances the counter; safe Goods do not help the objective.
- surviveTime — Stay alive for a duration (45 seconds on Endurance). Score is optional; lives are everything.
- dodgeBombs — Let a required number of bombs pass (8 on Bomb Patience). Do not farm near bomb sprites.
- noMiss — Zero misses on valid drops (Thunder Gate). Okay is fine; misses and bomb taps are not.
- tapAll — Still appears on intro storm levels; clear the spawn set cleanly.
Levels 11–20
11 — Spark
Faster pacing and storm atmosphere. Warm up triage from Double Trouble. Use Spark to re-establish high catches after Calm Seas so streak multipliers (toward 2.5×) feel natural again before score checks arrive.
12 — Golden Rush (reachScore 2500)
Your first serious score exam. Golden drops are roughly 3× as valuable as a same-rated normal tap. Keep streak alive through ordinary drops so golden Perfects land on a healthy multiplier. Catch in the top third when safe. One bomb tap can erase the run’s momentum — lane discipline from Danger Zone matters more than greed.
13 — Freeze Frame
Freeze drops slow the board for about three seconds. Grab them when safe, then clear low threats before farming centers. Freeze Frame teaches resource use: the power-up is a cleanup tool, not a license to ignore bombs.
14 — Perfect Storm (perfectStreak 5)
You need five consecutive Perfects. Wait for isolated drops in a comfortable band. If the board crowds, take a life-saving Good knowing it resets the Perfect counter — then rebuild. Do not force Perfect on a phantom mid-fade.
15 — Endurance (surviveTime 45s)
Forty-five seconds with three lives. Play like a goalie: lowest valid drop first, bombs never, phantoms only when visible. Ignore score envy. If you are at one life, abandon height farming and tap safely.
16 — Bomb Patience (dodgeBombs 8)
Eight bombs must exit untouched. Your eyes will want to tap motion; train stillness on red. Clear valid drops early so you are not swiping near a bomb at the bottom. This level directly prepares Dark Pulse in The Abyss.
17 — Lightning Round
High intensity and speed surges. Commit early on accelerators. Accept Excellent over late Perfect. Keep streak if you can, but Endurance habits beat hero taps.
18 — Phantom Storm
Heavy phantom mix. Opacity tracking is the skill. Alternate: save low solids, then visible phantoms. Star runs fail here when players spam fade zones — patience is accuracy.
19 — High Stakes (reachScore 3500)
A steeper score target than Golden Rush. You need cleaner streaks, more high catches, and disciplined golden takes. Review the scoring guide before grinding. If you plateau, warm up in Endless for streak feel, then return.
20 — Thunder Gate (noMiss)
Chapter boss gate. No misses. Combine bomb abstinence, phantom patience, and early commits on speed drops. Okay ratings are acceptable; a single miss ends the clean clear. After Thunder Gate, rest or star-farm Storm levels before The Abyss.
Stars in the storm
★ completes the objective, ★★ needs 70%+ accuracy, ★★★ needs 90%+. On surviveTime and dodgeBombs levels, accuracy still counts — reckless swipes that miss valid drops hurt stars even if the timer or bomb count completes. Clear the objective first, then replay for accuracy with patterns memorized.
Practice loop between levels 11–20
After Spark, if Golden Rush feels impossible, spend one Endless run practicing high catches and streak protection without score anxiety, then return. After Freeze Frame, consciously use at least one freeze window “correctly” (cleanup then quality) before moving on — bad freeze habits haunt Magma Flow later. Before Perfect Storm, warm up with ten deliberate Perfects on Calm Waters; the objective is psychological as much as mechanical.
Endurance and Bomb Patience are mindset twins: both punish greed. Play them on days when you can accept “boring” Goods. Lightning Round and Phantom Storm are recognition twins: both punish delayed reads. High Stakes should wait until Golden Rush ★★ feels comfortable; the jump from 2500 to 3500 is real. Thunder Gate is a confidence check — attempt it fresh, not at the end of a tilted High Stakes marathon.
